So I bought a Raspberry Pi to scratch my itch for retrocomputing, basically because I haven't the technical skills to maintain/fix forty-year-old hardware. The ability to swap OSes easily by swapping an SD card and rebooting is very nice too. The model I bought (Pi 400) is built into a small keyboard case like the computers of yore too, so that's nice. Ultimately I've got a goal of using the early 80s-era computer magazine archives on Internet Archive to source fun computer programs to type in to their native BASICs and whatnot, Do some old school programming, y'know?
I know about C64 Forever and RISC OS (even if I can't get the internet working on the latter), and I'm exploring options for the Apple II and ZX Sinclair. But I'm wondering what else might be out there that's interesting. I'm particularly hoping to find some more obscure stuff like GEM, Coleco EOS, TRSDOS, and so on.
Anyone have any suggestions?
